A Passion for Champagne

During the early stages of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, champagne blogger, Gina Lyons wanted to find a way to continue to enjoy champagne and culinary experiences with wine lovers from around the world from the comfort and safety of home. In March 2020, she decided to begin hosting weekly virtual wine tastings collaborating with Michelin suppliers such as Champagne Louis Roederer,  Champagne Billecart-Salmon, Champagne Frerejean Frères, and later with Alex Ojeda, incorporated food and wine pairings with Sabatino Truffles and Haute Caviar, among others.  After great success, "A Vine Affair" was born to continue curating bespoke champagne and food experiences for enthusiasts at every level.

Gina's experience living abroad in both Asia and Europe for over a decade, has developed her appreciation for great food and a special interest in wine. Working as the head of Customer Experience for Europe at a major luxury fashion brand, Gina is able to apply her knowledge of hosting, clientelling, and luxury experiences to A Vine Affair.  

What started out as an interest and hobby, Gina quickly realized that her passion for wine, and more specifically, champagne, was growing, and she wanted it to become a bigger part of her life.

She left her corporate job in April 2019 to pursue champagne full time.  Studying wine and getting certifications, along with trying countless champagnes, visiting the region of Champagne, writing about her experiences, and teaching others on her Instagram, she quickly became an ambassador and connoisseur in all things Champagne.  

In 2020, she dove deep into caviar, and also got her certification for this, as well as being mentored by caviar producers and houses.

In 2022, she was inducted into the CRPC, where she is a part of a small group of champagne lovers, educators, trade from all over the world, who gather twice a year in Champagne to taste the Vins Clairs of Cristal, and harvest the grapes of Cristal Rosé.

Featured in the Huff Post, ABC7 Suncoast View, Booze Press, The Champagne Club, amongst several other publications, Gina Lyons has quickly made a mark in the world of wine as a champagne specialist and wine educator.
