Champagne Hospitality, the visionary group behind the Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa, is unveiling its latest masterpiece in Burgundy: Château de la Commaraine. This storied 12th‑century estate, nestled among the Premier Cru vineyards of Pommard, will relaunch in late 2025 as a luxury 5-Star retreat—woven into the fabric of Burgundy's wine tradition (Château de la Commaraine).

A Heritage Reborn

Tracing its roots to 1112, Château de la Commaraine has been meticulously reborn through a four‑year restoration led by the Architectes des Bâtiments de France. The result: a seamless harmony of its original white-stone walls, vaulted wood ceilings, and glowing contemporary accents like rose‑gold and sky‑blue tones.

With 37 rooms and suites—including a rare suite overlooking the vat room—and one private four‑bedroom residence complete with its own tasting room, every corner offers a unique link between past and present.

Immersed in the Terroir

Situated on 9.27 acres of biodynamically tended Premier Cru vineyards, this château isn’t just a hotel—it’s a living winery. Guests can:

  • Participate in seasonal viticulture activities

  • Tour the cuverie and barrel cellars

  • Enjoy wine safaris, bike rides, hot-air balloon excursions, or canal cruises arranged through the château’s concierge.

The famed Pommard terroir—celebrated by Victor Hugo as the “fight of day and night”—provides a poetic backdrop of structured elegance and soulful finesse.

Savor, Sip, Indulge

  • Two Distinct Dining Venues: A vaulted cellar restaurant and a chic bistro, both curated by Meilleur Ouvrier de France chef Christophe  Raoux (noted alumnus of Paul Bocuse & Alain Ducasse)

  • 14th-Century Tower Bar: Thoughtfully plated cocktails and premier estate wines served within historic stone walls.

  • Wellness & Leisure:Includes a spa, 18 m heated outdoor pool, 24/7 fitness, forested terraces, and curated spa treatments—all in harmony with the serene vineyard views.

A New Benchmark in Luxury Wine Travel

As the third flagship in Champagne Hospitality’s prestigious portfolio—including Royal Champagne and Le 25bis—the château exemplifies their ethos: “respect for French heritage and authenticity”, underpinned by founder Denise Dupré and Mark Nunnelly’s passion and investment in French terroir and hospitality.

Elegant design, immersive wine experiences, and thoughtfully curated amenities position Château de la Commaraine as Burgundy’s next must-stay luxury destination.
